Tractor Trailer Accidents
Tractor trailer accidents are often more complicated than a normal automobile accident. In addition to following the same rules of
the road that all automobile drivers must obey, tractor trailer drivers must also comply with the Federal Motor Carrier Safety
Regulations. Most tractor trailers have black boxes and satellite tracking and all drivers must keep a travel log.
Often tractor trailer companies are located in other states even though the truck may be traveling through Virginia. The tractor
trailer company may be self-insured up to a certain level prior to the company's insurance coverage being involved. There can be issue
with the company's negligent retention or hiring of the driver who caused the accident. All of these concerns, in addition to the normal
personal injury issues, can make tractor trailer cases very complicated.
